Sales Executive – Tea Packaging Solutions

About the role

The company is a leading supplier of filter paper and specialised packaging for the tea, food and beverage sectors in Sri Lanka. As the business expands, it seeks a technically‑savvy Sales Executive to grow B2B sales within tea manufacturing and export organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new sales opportunities across tea factories, exporters and beverage processors throughout Sri Lanka.
• Conduct market research, field visits and networking to expand the customer base.
• Provide technical advice on filter‑paper grades, heat‑seal vs. non‑heat‑seal options, GSM specifications and machine compatibility (e.g., IMA, Constanta).
• Deliver presentations, product demos and factory visits to match solutions with client production needs.
• Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate pricing and secure long‑term supply contracts.
• Coordinate with supply‑chain and production teams to ensure timely order fulfilment.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory changes affecting tea exports.

Required profile

• Proven sales or account‑management experience with exposure to tea packaging materials, paper converting or related industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, Food Science or a related field.
• Strong understanding of tea bag conversion machines, filter‑paper grades and the operational needs of tea factories and exporters.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated, target‑driven and willing to travel across key tea‑producing regions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic experience with CRM tools.
