About the role
RemediumOne, together with the Clinical Trials Unit of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya and international academic partners, is seeking a Research Assistant to support a community‑based health research project in Vavuniya. The role offers hands‑on fieldwork, exposure to international research standards and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key responsibilities
- Support qualitative research activities that explore community, health‑system and behavioural factors influencing a new health intervention.
- Assist in data collection, interview scheduling and documentation with community members, families, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
- Manage field responsibilities in the Northern Province, ensuring timely and accurate data capture.
- Collaborate with senior researchers, clinicians and international partners to maintain research quality.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Health Promotion, Biological Sciences or a related field.
- Interest or experience in qualitative research methods.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Tamil and/or Sinhala.
- Confidence engaging with diverse community and professional groups.
- Willingness to work in the Northern Province and handle extended hours, weekends or public holidays as needed.
- Residence in Vavuniya or surrounding areas.
