Purchasing & Procurement Manager – Heavy Industry

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing & Procurement Manager to lead all local procurement activities for a leading bottle and glass manufacturing operation. The role requires a strong engineering background to source materials, machinery, spare parts and consumables while ensuring cost efficiency and uninterrupted plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage 100% of local direct and indirect purchasing activities.
• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing, supplier negotiations, purchase order creation and delivery coordination.
• Procure engineering materials, machinery, spare parts and plant consumables.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, optimizing cost, quality and delivery.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Maintenance and Finance teams to meet operational needs.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve procurement issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and ensure compliance with company procurement policies.
• Prepare procurement reports and track purchasing KPIs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Chemical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
• 2–3 years of experience at Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or Manager level in purchasing/procurement.
• Proven experience in 100% local procurement covering both direct and indirect categories.
• Manufacturing industry background, preferably in heavy industries such as glass, bottle, porcelain, ceramic, cement, tile or machinery.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management and analytical abilities.
