Purchasing & Procurement Manager (Assistant Manager level)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing & Procurement professional with a strong engineering background to lead end‑to‑end local procurement activities for a leading bottle and glass manufacturing organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage 100% of local direct and indirect purchasing activities.
• Handle sourcing, supplier negotiations, purchase orders and delivery coordination.
• Procure engineering materials, machinery, spare parts and plant consumables.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while optimizing cost, quality and delivery.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Maintenance and Finance teams to support operational needs.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve procurement issues and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive process improvements.
• Prepare procurement reports and track purchasing KPIs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Chemical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
• 2–3 years of experience at Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or Manager level in purchasing/procurement.
• Proven experience in 100% local procurement covering both direct and indirect purchasing.
• Manufacturing industry experience, preferably in glass, bottle, porcelain, ceramic, cement, tile or heavy machinery sectors.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management and analytical abilities.
