Purchasing Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will lead procurement activities for construction projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials, cost‑effective purchasing and strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for construction projects.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors and service providers.
• Obtain competitive quotations and manage purchasing costs.
• Maintain procurement schedules to guarantee on‑time delivery to sites.
• Monitor inventory levels and prevent material shortages.
• Build and sustain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and opportunities.
• Track supplier performance, quality and delivery timelines.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry standards.
• Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses and budget forecasts.
• Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Site Engineers and Finance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement/purchasing experience, including at least 1 year in a managerial role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, subcontracting and procurement processes.
• Experience with large‑scale construction projects is an advantage.
