Public Relations Officer

About the role

As a Public Relations Officer you will join the Marketing Team at Edith Cowan University Sri Lanka, providing the first point of contact for students, parents and visitors and supporting the university’s visibility and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist students, parents and visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
• Answer, direct and respond to incoming phone calls and emails.
• Handle student inquiries, providing basic information on programmes and admissions.
• Maintain visitor records, manage appointment scheduling and ensure the front office is well‑kept.
• Track, record and generate regular reports on all student inquiries (walk‑in, telephone, email, online) for management review.
• Assist in coordinating meetings, events and campus activities.
• Support marketing and public‑relations activities as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations or a related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years experience in reception or customer‑service roles.
• Excellent English communication skills; knowledge of Sinhala and/or Tamil is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
