About the role
The Project Manager will lead the Strengthening Community Frontliners for Disaster Preparedness and Resilience Project across three districts in Sri Lanka. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the grant is implemented in line with contractual obligations and achieves its overall objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Direct and oversee grant planning, implementation, and monitoring to meet strategic objectives.
- Provide guidance on grant proposal interpretation, compliance, and reporting with support from the Grant team.
- Coordinate with the WVL HEA Department to align project activities with organisational DRR strategies, policies, and standards.
- Work closely with ADP Managers to integrate project interventions, avoid duplication, and promote sustainability.
- Develop and maintain relationships with government departments, local and international partners, and represent World Vision in relevant meetings.
- Ensure timely completion of assessments, baselines, and evaluations according to project standards.
- Facilitate the development of comprehensive project plans, including design, M&E, annual, DIP, and resource allocation plans.
- Manage the project budget within approved limits and produce accurate financial reports for donors and internal stakeholders.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, International Development, Community Development or a related DRR field.
- At least 10 years of experience in community development, program or project management within a complex international or INGO environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the disaster risk reduction sector.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Sinhala, Tamil and English.
- Knowledge of Community‑Based Disaster Risk Management, Early Warning Systems and Anticipatory Action approaches.
- Proven capacity in program design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
