Project Manager (Banking and Finance Domain)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead end‑to‑end delivery of IT, digital and business transformation initiatives within the banking and finance sector. The role is based in Colombo and involves coordinating cross‑functional teams, external vendors and ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor transformation projects, keeping them within scope, budget and schedule.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, documentation and progress dashboards.
• Coordinate IT, Operations, Risk, Finance, Digital and CX teams as well as external solution integrators.
• Ensure adherence to CBSL guidelines, internal governance, ISMS, audit standards and quality checkpoints.
• Manage project risks, maintain risk registers and escalate issues promptly.
• Track vendor deliverables, SLAs and integration activities.
• Oversee project closure, post‑implementation reviews and handover to BAU teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, IS, Project Management or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience managing IT, digital transformation, fintech or banking process improvement projects.
• Hands‑on experience leading cross‑functional teams, vendors and solution integrators.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, CSM or AgilePM are an advantage.
• Strong command of English and professional documentation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience using MS Project, Trello and Asana.
• Familiarity with process‑modeling tools such as Visio, Figma and Draw.io.
