Project Billing Specialist

About the role

The Project Billing Specialist ensures that customer projects and services are billed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with contractual agreements and internal financial controls. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining billing integrity and supporting revenue recognition for a technology‑focused services organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end project services billing, from invoice creation to revenue recognition support.
• Ensure invoicing aligns with contracts, quotes and billing agreements, and resolve any commercial billing issues.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Account Managers, Finance, Accounts Receivable, Contracts and Operations teams to guarantee timely and accurate customer invoicing.
• Handle staffing solutions invoicing and other miscellaneous billing tasks.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of proven experience in project billing, finance, accounts receivable or revenue assurance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Experience with financial/ERP platforms such as Sage Intacct.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, billing processes and financial controls.
• Strong commercial awareness to interpret contracts, quotes and billing agreements.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and revenue risks.
• Secondary education completed; a degree in Accounting & Finance is desirable.
• Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or Chartered Accountancy is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
