Project Accountant – DHR Rise Up Project

About the role

The Project Accountant provides high‑quality, accurate and consistent financial support for the DHR Rise Up Project, ensuring optimal use of grant funds and timely reporting to World Vision management and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure project teams understand grant financial requirements and promote compliance throughout implementation.
• Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to organizational policies, donor regulations, and financial procedures.
• Lead the project team on accurate monthly budget utilization.
• Prepare professional financial reports for the project team and World Vision management on a regular basis.
• Supervise finances at project and village level, including training of partners and community leaders.
• Support effective utilization of grant funds in line with donor financial guidelines.
• Prepare and monitor cash‑flow forecasts in close coordination with project teams.
• Assist in managing procurement processes to ensure compliance with the Participatory Strategic Sourcing framework and donor guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or part qualification from a recognized accounting body (CA Sri Lanka, CIMA).
• Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, finance, or grant financial management.
• Knowledge and experience in managing grant‑ and donor‑funded projects, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala/Tamil.
