Production Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Production Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team at a leading manufacturing company in Colombo. The role combines strong leadership with deep technical knowledge of pneumatic manufacturing systems and production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage production teams to meet daily, monthly and annual targets while ensuring quality, safety and efficiency.
• Plan, coordinate and optimise production activities to maximise capacity utilisation across pneumatic manufacturing operations.
• Drive improvements in productivity, OEE, quality, cost efficiency, throughput and on‑time delivery.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, automation and process optimisation.
• Identify bottlenecks, eliminate waste and implement sustainable solutions.
• Monitor and control production costs, material usage, manpower utilisation and operational expenses.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain and EHS teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
• Establish and track production KPIs, analyse trends and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 10–15 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale production operations and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of pneumatic systems, production processes and manufacturing equipment.
• Hands‑on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, automation and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
