Production Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are a leading recruitment firm partnering with a top food manufacturing company in Hanwella. The Production Manager will lead high‑volume production operations, ensuring quality, safety, cost control, and on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day production to meet volume, quality, and delivery targets.
• Develop and execute production plans aligned with demand and capacity.
• Monitor productivity, yield, downtime, waste, and OEE.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, health & safety, and other standards.
• Drive efficiency initiatives, cost reduction, waste minimisation, and resource optimisation.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with QA, Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and R&D teams.
• Lead continuous‑improvement and lean manufacturing projects.
• Coach and motivate production teams to build a high‑performance culture.
• Investigate deviations, quality issues, and process inefficiencies, delivering sustainable solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in food manufacturing, with extensive production‑operations exposure.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale production teams.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food‑safety systems and quality management.
• Demonstrated expertise in production planning, process optimisation and cost reduction.
• Data‑driven analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication and people‑management skills.
