Production Engineer – New Product Integration

About the role

Softmatter, the wearable technology arm of MAS, is seeking a Production Engineer – New Product Integration (Assistant Manager Grade) to lead the transition of innovative designs from concept to large‑scale manufacturing. You will own the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensure manufacturing readiness, and drive operational efficiency in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead NPI activities from prototype to mass‑production, providing Design‑for‑Manufacturing (DFM) recommendations and coordinating cross‑functional teams.
• Manage product transfer and contract‑manufacturing activities, ensuring smooth hand‑over to manufacturing partners.
• Develop and qualify manufacturing processes, validate equipment, and conduct process capability studies.
• Define quality gates, inspection methods, testing procedures, acceptance criteria, and control plans while supporting root‑cause analysis.
• Create work instructions, SOPs, and visual aids; train operators and supervise production hand‑over.
• Conduct regular process audits, lead continuous‑improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, and validate process changes.
• Identify cost‑reduction and yield‑improvement opportunities through value engineering and data analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading New Product Introduction and manufacturing scale‑up projects.
• Strong background in process qualification, validation, and capability analysis.
• Familiarity with contract manufacturing and product transfer activities.
• Ability to develop detailed work instructions and train production personnel.
