Plant Operator

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Plant Operator to manage and maintain our client’s water treatment and environmental management systems. The role involves operating RO, MBR and Biological Treatment plants while ensuring water quality standards are met and plant operations run continuously.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor RO, MBR and Biological Treatment plants according to procedures and engineer instructions.
• Conduct routine inspections, report abnormalities, and perform daily water quality testing.
• Monitor HMI parameters, equipment readings and system performance.
• Maintain quality standards for process water, drinking water and treated wastewater.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, including RO CIP cleaning and MBR recovery cleaning.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions to avoid downtime.
• Repair and modify the factory water distribution network as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in plant areas.
• Monitor chemical inventory and coordinate replenishment with Stores.
• Support third‑party contractors and keep documentation for waste collection, sludge removal and blower servicing.
• Collect and record operational data such as flow rates, differential pressure, dissolved oxygen, RO yield, chemical and electrical consumption, and compressor/blower readings.

Required profile

• Diploma, NVQ or technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in RO, water treatment, effluent or wastewater plant operations.
• Basic understanding of water treatment processes, pumps, membranes, chemical dosing systems and instrumentation.
• Ability to identify operational issues and take prompt corrective actions.
• Good record‑keeping and reporting skills.
• Willingness to work shifts when required.
