Planning & Procurement Executive

About the role

The Planning & Procurement Executive will coordinate purchasing activities for Lablink in Colombo, ensuring that laboratory instruments, consumables, chemicals and glassware are available when needed to support scientific, industrial and educational customers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan stock requirements and forecast demand based on usage trends.
• Prepare, review and process purchase orders accurately.
• Track deliveries, monitor order status and maintain procurement records.
• Liaise with suppliers, negotiate prices and contract terms.
• Monitor purchase management workflows to support smooth operations.
• Analyze demand and usage trends to optimise inventory levels.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand product requirements.
• Support continuous improvement of procurement processes.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and purchase management.
• Hands‑on experience preparing and managing purchase orders.
• Analytical skills for demand forecasting, cost analysis and inventory planning.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics or a related field.
• Attention to detail, strong organisational abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in laboratory, industrial or technical product procurement is an advantage.
