Patient Relations Coordinator

About the role

The Patient Relations Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients and their families throughout their interaction with the hospital. The role acts as a key liaison between patients and internal hospital teams, coordinating patient requirements, addressing concerns, facilitating communication, and ensuring timely resolution of service‑related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for patients and their families.
• Coordinate patient appointments, consultations, admissions, investigations, and related services.
• Handle patient inquiries, concerns, complaints, and feedback professionally.
• Liaise with doctors, nurses, consultants, and relevant hospital departments to address patient requirements.
• Follow up on patient requests and ensure timely resolution.
• Monitor patient satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve the patient experience.
• Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, feedback, complaints, and follow‑ups.
• Assist patients and families with hospital procedures and service‑related queries.
• Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the relevant management personnel.
• Support patient satisfaction surveys and prepare relevant reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in patient relations, hospital administration, healthcare coordination, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong patient‑service orientation and a professional approach.
• Good coordination, follow‑up, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
• Proficiency in English; Sinhala and/or Tamil an added advantage.
• Good computer literacy and documentation skills.
