MEP Project Manager / Engineer

About the role

Kent Engineers is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager/Engineer to lead the planning, coordination and execution of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for a variety of commercial, residential and industrial projects in Colombo. The role is full‑time, on‑site and involves close collaboration with internal teams, consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret design drawings for MEP systems.
• Prepare, submit and manage technical submittals and documentation.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors and internal disciplines to align project execution.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules and resource allocation, reporting progress to senior management and clients.
• Conduct regular site inspections, resolve technical issues and ensure quality and safety compliance.
• Support procurement activities to secure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Implement risk management and quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in MEP design, installation and coordination on commercial, residential or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant MEP codes, standards and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules and resources.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical submittals for project approvals.
• Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP) is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with capacity to handle multiple priorities.
