Manager Regulatory and Financial Reporting

About the role

HSBC is seeking an experienced Manager to lead regulatory and financial reporting functions in Sri Lanka. The role ensures accurate statutory financial statements and regulatory submissions, supporting the bank’s compliance and governance objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and ensure timely statutory financial statements in accordance with LKAS, SLFRS and CBSL regulations.
• Oversee regulatory reporting to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and other regulators, guaranteeing accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Maintain compliance with corporate governance and ESG disclosure requirements as directed by the CBSL.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, regulatory bodies and tax authorities.
• Provide advisory support on emerging regulatory mandates and tax law changes, conducting regular reviews for consistent application.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or related field; qualified ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent.
• Proven experience preparing financial statements and regulatory returns with strong knowledge of LKAS/SLFRS, IFRS/IAS.
• Subject‑matter expertise in financial accounting, reporting and regulatory reporting.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
• Experience liaising with regulators and external auditors, handling queries within deadlines.
• Solid understanding of Sri Lankan tax legislation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of LKAS, SLFRS, IFRS and IAS standards.
• Familiarity with Sri Lankan tax laws and regulatory frameworks.
