Manager – Global Alliances & Partnerships (Events)

About the role

The Manager, Global Alliances & Partnerships will lead the development of strategic global partnerships and high‑impact events for Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, overseeing the Cinnamon Box Office and driving commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and drive the annual events strategy and calendar, including international events and activations.
• Build and manage strategic partnerships with event promoters, producers, sponsors, international organisations and other stakeholders.
• Identify and evaluate event opportunities through commercial, financial, operational and risk assessments.
• Lead end‑to‑end execution of events and activations, coordinating internal and external parties.
• Generate commercial value for Cinnamon and related John Keells business units through partnerships and activations.
• Manage and optimise the Cinnamon Box Office, including event listings, ticketing operations and platform performance.
• Cultivate relationships with regional and international event partners to position Sri Lanka as a preferred destination for major events.
• Monitor event performance, budgets and outcomes, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in event management, hospitality, partnerships or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Event Management, Marketing, Project Management or a related discipline.
• MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Proven experience with large‑scale, international events and strategic partners.
• Strong networking, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Commercial and financial acumen with excellent project‑management skills.
• Creative, proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
