Manager - Administration (DataDog)

About the role

We are looking for a Manager to lead the administration of the Datadog platform at our Colombo office. You will ensure reliable monitoring, observability and performance across our infrastructure, applications and cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and support the day‑to‑day Datadog environment covering infrastructure, APM, log and synthetic monitoring.
• Design, build and maintain dashboards, alerts and reports for proactive visibility.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and optimise alerting rules.
• Onboard servers, containers, cloud resources and third‑party tools into Datadog.
• Administer platform components such as agents, integrations, patches, upgrades and documentation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, application and DevOps teams to improve platform stability.
• Participate in rotational shifts and on‑call support following ITIL processes.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in IT operations, monitoring or infrastructure support.
• 1‑3 years of hands‑on Datadog administration.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows administration, major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of networking protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, APIs, SNMP).
• Basic scripting ability in Shell, Python or PowerShell.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts and provide on‑call coverage.
• ITIL knowledge or certification is a plus; experience with CI/CD tools is advantageous.
