Linux Server Patching Specialist

About the role

The Linux Server Patching Specialist will plan, execute, validate and report on patching activities across Superloop’s Linux server fleet and a small number of Windows servers. This hands‑on position is essential for reducing cyber‑risk exposure through timely security patching, controlled change execution and accurate compliance evidence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deploy patches on Linux servers, with limited support for Windows servers.
• Automate patching and lifecycle tasks using Ansible and Foreman.
• Monitor vulnerability findings from Rapid7 and other tools, prioritising remediation based on severity, asset criticality and business impact.
• Maintain accurate patch compliance records, exceptions and remediation evidence for Cyber and IT leadership.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application and service owners to schedule patching within approved change windows.
• Validate patches in non‑production environments before broader rollout when required.
• Investigate and resolve patch failures, dependency issues, service impacts and configuration drift.
• Rebuild Linux servers when operating systems reach end‑of‑support.

• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams to schedule and execute changes safely.
• Strong analytical skills for vulnerability prioritisation and remediation tracking.
