Legal Officer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Legal Officer to join our team in Battaramulla. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and managing a wide range of commercial contracts while providing legal guidance to support our business operations, particularly in the fintech and digital services sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements such as vendor contracts, client contracts, NDAs, SLAs, and partnership agreements.
• Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Provide legal advice on contractual and business‑related matters.
• Identify potential legal and commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams—including business, operations, procurement, and management—to facilitate contract execution and compliance.
• Maintain accurate contract records and legal documentation.
• Support dispute resolution activities and manage contract‑related legal matters.
• Monitor and interpret regulatory developments relevant to fintech, technology, and digital services.

Required profile

• Attorney‑at‑Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
• 2–4 years of experience in contract drafting, contract management, and legal advisory.
• Experience in fintech, banking, financial services, or IT is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial law, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
