Lead – Patch Operations (Windows/Linux)

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Lead to join our Patch Operations team. The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of patch operations engineers, providing coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance while ensuring effective delivery of patch management services across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy monthly OS security patches across Windows and Linux server environments using Tanium.
• Coordinate emergency and zero‑day vulnerability remediation activities and validate successful installations.
• Analyze vulnerability reports, prioritize remediation based on risk, and collaborate with Cyber Security teams.
• Support Windows Server (2012‑2022) and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux) platforms across Nutanix, VMware, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Develop PowerShell and Bash scripts to automate tasks and create patch compliance dashboards.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience managing Windows or Linux server environments in large‑scale enterprise settings.
• Proven leadership experience (2‑3 years) overseeing technical teams and driving operational excellence.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder communication skills.

Required skills

• Windows Server (2012‑2022) and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux).
• Patch management tools such as Tanium, SCCM or BigFix.
• Vulnerability management tools (Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7 or equivalent).
• Virtualization platforms: VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
• Scripting/automation: PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform.
• ITSM platform: ServiceNow.
• Active Directory, networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, firewall, load balancing).
