Lead Consultant Engineer (ELV & BMS)

About the role

The Lead Consultant Engineer (ELV & BMS) acts as the primary technical authority for low‑voltage, building management, data‑center and sustainability systems. The role provides end‑to‑end technical leadership from pre‑bid design through commissioning, handover and live operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect ELV and BMS solutions, producing schematics, BOQs, design reports and lifecycle cost plans.
• Own testing, commissioning, validation and handover, ensuring compliance with functional safety and project specifications.
• Coordinate technical delivery across physical plant, data‑center infrastructure, DCIM and MEP scopes alongside lead MEP and data‑center consultants.
• Develop and implement DCIM strategy, operational sustainability and green‑building initiatives.
• Drive R&D projects involving IoT, embedded systems, autonomous control and intelligent building technologies.
• Lead integration of IT, cloud and AI systems with building and data‑center platforms.
• Serve as the principal technical liaison for clients from pre‑bid through contract award.
• Oversee technical documentation, CAD/BIM workflows and digital‑twin deliverables.
• Support Uptime Institute and TIA‑942 certification audits.
• Review and approve technical content in proposals, marketing materials and financial submissions.
• Evaluate contractors, conduct quality audits, risk assessments and multidisciplinary design reviews.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers and provide guidance to other lead consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Electronics, Building Services, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Extensive experience in ELV, BMS, smart‑building and data‑center systems, including testing, commissioning and handover.
• Proven track record delivering integrated DCIM, sustainability and green‑building projects.
• Strong knowledge of IoT, embedded systems, autonomous control and emerging facility technologies.
• Experience with IT, cloud and AI integration in building or data‑center environments.
• Familiarity with Uptime Institute and TIA‑942 certification processes is advantageous.
• Excellent client‑facing, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
