Lead Cloud Performance Engineer – Ultra HA/Exadata (A&D)

About the role

The Lead Cloud Performance Engineer joins IFS Unified Support to provide 24x7x365 performance expertise for Aerospace & Defence customers running Ultra High Availability solutions on Oracle Exadata. The role focuses on keeping mission‑critical environments fast, stable and continuously available through proactive monitoring, deep‑dive diagnostics and capacity management across the full stack.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end performance investigations, from detection in monitoring platforms to root‑cause analysis on Oracle Database and application tiers.
• Provide permanent fixes or tuning recommendations to resolve performance‑related incidents and service requests.
• Maintain and enhance proactive performance monitoring, observability and capacity‑planning processes for Exadata and supporting cloud/network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal support teams, product engineers and external customers to drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in problem and change management activities within the Unified Support Performance Team.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Oracle Database and Oracle Exadata environments.
• Strong background in performance monitoring, diagnostics and capacity management.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 support setting and manage high‑impact incidents.
• Excellent analytical and root‑cause investigation skills.
• Experience in cloud and network infrastructure is advantageous, especially within the A&D sector.
