Junior Legal Counsel – Battaramulla

About the role

Join MAS’s Legal & Governance team as a Junior Legal Counsel based in Battaramulla. You will support strategic business initiatives and gain exposure to commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters within a leading apparel and textile exporter.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and coordinate the drafting of legal documentation for new projects in consultation with senior counsel and company lawyers.
• Work with lawyers and company secretaries to prepare incorporation documents and applications for Board of Investment (BOI) approvals.
• Support the implementation of corporate governance practices across the MAS group.
• Provide legal advice on general employment issues and statutory requirements in Sri Lanka.
• Educate business units on corporate governance policies and procedures.

Required profile

• LLB graduate with a professional legal qualification.
• Qualified Attorney at Law.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a corporate or regulatory environment.
• Experience in company secretarial work and drafting/reviewing legal documents.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking abilities.
• Knowledge of Sri Lankan labor laws (preferred).
