Junior Executive – Risk and Control

About the role

The Junior Executive – Risk and Control will support the implementation and monitoring of risk management and internal control frameworks across Hemas Holdings’ business units. Based in Colombo, this full‑time, on‑site position offers the opportunity to work closely with operational teams, audit functions and senior management to strengthen governance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in conducting risk assessments and documenting key controls.
• Test controls, prepare reports on findings and follow up on remediation actions.
• Coordinate with operational teams to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of risk and control activities.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing governance, compliance and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Knowledge of risk management, internal controls and basic compliance frameworks.
• Ability to identify and assess operational and financial risks.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Good organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related field; part‑qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, CA) are a plus.
• Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality and an ethical mindset.
• Willingness to learn and grow within a risk and control function.
• Prior internship or entry‑level experience in audit, finance or risk management is beneficial but not required.
