IT System Monitoring Officer

About the role

We are looking for an IT System Monitoring Officer to ensure the continuous availability and performance of our core banking, card management, and payment platforms. The role involves proactive monitoring, rapid incident resolution, and close collaboration with application, infrastructure, network, and database teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor business applications, card management systems, digital banking platforms, and payment switch services for high availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, service disruptions, and application‑related issues promptly.
• Analyze application, system, and transaction logs to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Perform day‑to‑day support on Linux servers and application environments.
• Support database operations across MySQL, Oracle, and Progress platforms.
• Assist with application deployments, upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
• Monitor REST APIs, integrations, and ISO message flows to ensure smooth transaction processing.
• Validate transaction flows across card management systems, payment switches, and digital banking platforms.
• Maintain accurate incident reports, operational documentation, and system health records.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing, health checks, and change‑management activities.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call support on a rotational basis.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in Application Support, System Support, IT Operations or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of Linux commands and server administration.
• Understanding of databases such as MySQL, Oracle and Progress.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and system infrastructure.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis abilities.
• Exposure to banking, card management, digital banking or payment platforms is a plus.
• Willingness to work independently, collaborate in a fast‑paced environment and provide on‑call support.
