Intermediate Accountant – Australian Tax & Accounting

About the role

Growth Prof is seeking a motivated Intermediate Accountant to support its Australian tax and accounting services. The role combines day‑to‑day bookkeeping, payroll, and tax compliance with month‑end and year‑end financial close activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain financial records and process transactions.
• Run payroll, ensure tax compliance and calculate superannuation payments.
• Prepare BAS, IAS, FBT and TPAR documentation.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closings, including journal adjustments.
• Prepare individual and company tax returns.
• Perform BAS and ICA/ITA reconciliations.
• Improve accounting processes and contribute to ad‑hoc financial projects.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting & Finance.
• Fully qualified AAT; partially qualified in ICASL, CMA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA and working toward full qualification.
• 2‑3 years of accounting experience, preferably with audit exposure.
• Experience in Australian accounting/bookkeeping, ideally within a BPO environment.
• Strong analytical, multitasking and detail‑oriented abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to a long‑term career in Australian taxation.
