Instructional Paraprofessional – Districtwide

About the role

The Instructional Paraprofessional works closely with certified teachers to create a well‑organized classroom environment where students can fully engage with the instructional program and resources. This district‑wide position supports a variety of classroom activities, including special‑needs assistance and technology integration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with classroom activities, including physical education and small‑group instruction.
• Prepare instructional materials and operate classroom technology as needed.
• Support students with special needs, including setting up equipment and providing personal care such as dressing, feeding, and toileting.
• Maintain classroom order, supervise playground, cafeteria, bathroom, and bus‑duty activities.
• Participate in field‑trip supervision and behavior‑management implementation.
• Provide the teacher with information on student progress and maintain confidentiality.
• Attend staff development workshops, safety training, and comply with district policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited institution, or successful completion of a basic‑skills test (ETS Paraprofessional or ACT WorkKeys), or an associate’s degree or higher.
• Ability to work promptly, reliably, and flexibly in a school setting.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and support students’ personal needs.
