HR Executive – Recruitment & Employee Relations

About the role

Cargills Confectionaries is seeking an HR Executive to join its Matale factory. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end recruitment, employee onboarding, and supporting HR operations in a fast‑moving food‑processing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Handle recruitment for non‑executive positions: sourcing, screening, interviewing, selecting and onboarding candidates.
• Participate in career fairs, recruitment drives and other talent‑acquisition initiatives.
• Coordinate with the Central HR team to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Organise orientation, induction programmes and identify training needs.
• Liaise with manpower agencies and outsourced service providers to maintain required staffing levels.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation and personal files.
• Manage employee welfare activities, uniforms, identity cards and grooming standards.
• Address employee grievances, monitor attendance, punctuality and hygiene standards.
• Coordinate performance appraisals, medical examinations, exit interviews and other HR processes.
• Support budgeting for HR and administration and handle ad‑hoc projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration.
• Minimum 2 years of HR experience, preferably in food processing, FMCG or manufacturing.
• Strong communication skills in English and Sinhala.
• Positive mindset with the ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to work onsite at the Matale factory.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
• Experience using Microsoft 365 applications.
