Head of Sales – Automobile Industry

About the role

Abans Auto, a leading automotive distributor in Sri Lanka, is seeking a dynamic Head of Sales to drive vehicle sales across its extensive network. You will shape strategy, manage inventory, and lead a high‑performing sales team to achieve ambitious revenue targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the vehicle sales strategy to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end vehicle sales pipeline, managing forecasts, conversion performance and proactively addressing risks and opportunities.
• Manage vehicle inventory and demand planning by optimizing stock levels, forecasting requirements and aligning inventory with sales performance and customer demand.
• Establish and monitor clear performance objectives and KPIs, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective CRM governance and sales process compliance, maintaining accurate lead management, customer data integrity and reliable sales reporting.
• Maintain full compliance with OEM brand standards, customer experience requirements and dealership policies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
• 10–12 years of progressive sales experience, including 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinker with strong execution and problem‑solving abilities.
• High level of ownership, professionalism and customer‑centricity.
