Head of Operations – Travel & Tourism

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned leader to steer the outbound leisure travel division of a leading tourism business. The Head of Operations will drive growth, ensure operational excellence and deliver memorable travel experiences while maintaining profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the outbound leisure travel business, overseeing operations, commercial activities and customer service.
• Develop and execute strategies to meet revenue, profit and growth targets.
• Identify market opportunities, emerging travel trends and new business avenues.
• Build and maintain relationships with international tour operators, airlines, DMCs and other partners.
• Negotiate commercial agreements to enhance product offerings and competitiveness.
• Drive sales performance and market expansion initiatives.
• Ensure seamless execution of travel operations and high‑quality service delivery.
• Develop innovative travel products aligned with customer needs and market trends.
• Manage budgets, forecasts and financial performance, improving profitability and efficiency.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a collaborative and customer‑centric culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in travel and tourism, focused on leisure travel management.
• At least 3 years in a senior leadership or management role.
• Strong understanding of international travel markets, supplier management and destination partnerships.
• Proven track record of driving commercial growth and achieving business targets.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication and negotiation abilities.
• Strategic thinking and business planning capabilities.
• Passion for travel and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
