About the role
The Head of Human Resources will partner with the Business Unit Director and Regional HR Leadership to design and execute a country‑level HR strategy that aligns with global and regional objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor and change agent, this leader will guide organizational design, workforce restructuring, and culture transformation across both office and manufacturing environments.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies, talent acquisition, succession planning and retention programs to support operational growth.
- Lead the performance management system, set KPIs, merit‑based recognition and foster a culture of accountability.
- Identify skill gaps and design learning and development initiatives to maximize human capital.
- Maintain proactive industrial and employee relations, ensuring compliance with Sri Lankan labor laws and corporate standards.
- Oversee compensation and benefits structures, payroll administration, statutory contributions and HR metrics reporting.
- Drive employee engagement, climate diagnostics and actionable interventions to improve morale.
- Manage general administration, facilities, security, CAPEX/OPEX budgets and coordinate with external advisors on site expansions and compliance audits.
- Champion Avery Dennison’s ethics, EHS and sustainability frameworks across all operations.
Required profile
- Minimum 10 years of relevant HR experience, including at least 3 years in a senior management role, preferably in an MNC.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, Law, Labor Administration or a related field; professional HR qualifications preferred.
- Demonstrated mastery of HR competencies such as change management, recruitment, compensation & benefits, training and employee relations.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is advantageous.
