Head of Finance - Retail Experience

About the role

We are seeking a senior finance leader to own the full spectrum of financial management for a fast‑growing retail and in‑house manufacturing business. You will be responsible for statutory reporting, tax compliance, FP&A, treasury, and the strategic financial partnership across buying, retail ops, marketing, e‑commerce and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain statutory and management accounts, oversee monthly close, audits and consolidation for both trading and manufacturing entities.
• Manage VAT, import duties, withholding tax, ESC, EPF/ETF and BOI compliance, with a focus on customs and duty discipline.
• Develop and enforce transfer pricing policy and documentation to ensure arm‑length compliance.
• Design internal controls, approval matrices and segregation of duties for a 6‑to‑20 store growth path.
• Own chart of accounts, consolidation rules and store‑level performance reporting.
• Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, rolling cash‑flow and store‑level P&L modeling.
• Run business‑case reviews for new stores, pricing, markdowns and make‑vs‑buy decisions.
• Oversee cash, banking, FX exposure, working capital and negotiate debt facilities and vendor credit.
• Prepare data rooms and financial diligence for strategic investor processes.
• Partner with buying, retail ops, marketing, e‑commerce and manufacturing to translate financial constraints into commercial options.
• Drive migration from QuickBooks to an integrated ERP with POS, e‑commerce and inventory systems; build BI dashboards for store and channel insights.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance experience in retail or manufacturing environments.
• Deep knowledge of statutory accounting, tax, transfer pricing and internal controls.
• Strong FP&A, budgeting, cash‑flow and treasury expertise.
• Experience negotiating debt facilities and preparing investor‑ready financial packages.
• Ability to partner cross‑functionally and influence senior leadership.
