Head of Finance

About the role

Ironwood Capital Partners is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance function of a LKR 1 bn revenue retail and commercial services business. This hands‑on senior role will drive financial performance, strengthen controls and support the scaling of a growing business backed by institutional capital.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full finance function, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Drive financial planning and analysis to support business decisions and growth strategy.
• Build and maintain utilization reports across assets and translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
• Implement and strengthen financial controls, processes and governance frameworks.
• Partner closely with senior leadership to provide actionable insights and challenge business performance.
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, banks and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 7+ years of finance experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record in financial management within retail, consumer services or multi‑site businesses.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands‑on approach and strong execution capability.
