Head of Analytics – Colombo

About the role

Fitch Ratings is looking for a Head of Analytics to lead its analytical franchise in Colombo. You will be responsible for overseeing rating activity across all asset classes in Sri Lanka, managing a local team of analysts, and ensuring rigorous application of rating criteria and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead analytical coverage and rating activity for Sri Lankan issuers, including financial institutions and corporates.
• Manage, coach and develop a team of at least five analysts.
• Set analytical priorities, allocate resources and oversee workflow across sectors.
• Drive hiring, workforce planning, candidate assessment and onboarding for the analytics function.
• Ensure consistent application of rating criteria, analytical policies and quality control of rating rationales.
• Maintain compliance with local regulations and internal policies.
• Represent Fitch in issuer meetings, external engagements and market commentary.
• Collaborate with operations, compliance and commercial teams while preserving analytical independence.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, research or a related field within a rating agency, bank or financial services firm.
• Proven leadership and people‑management experience, having led a team of at least five analysts.
• Deep knowledge of rating criteria, analytical governance and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Strong ability to engage senior issuer management, regulators and market participants.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Direct experience with Sri Lankan financial institutions or corporates is preferred.
