Head – Manufacturing Excellence & Digital Transformation

About the role

Our client, a leading glass manufacturer in Sri Lanka, is seeking a senior leader to drive manufacturing excellence, digital transformation and data‑analytics initiatives across the enterprise. The Head will translate strategic priorities into actionable programmes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage a portfolio of cross‑functional projects aligned with cost‑saving targets.
• Conduct detailed process studies to uncover improvement opportunities.
• Lead DMAIC and FIP projects from business case development through implementation and sustainment.
• Identify and implement digital interventions (IoT, video analytics, PowerBI, Azure Databricks, etc.) in partnership with IT and external vendors.
• Drive data‑analytics initiatives to enhance productivity and energy optimisation.
• Promote continuous‑improvement practices through area effectiveness teams, daily huddles and monthly audits.
• Lead automation, robotics and safety projects to boost manpower productivity.
• Benchmark best practices and build capability through Lean, Six Sigma and data‑analytics training.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, ISO standards and corporate policies.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical) from a recognised institution.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing, IT or digital‑transformation roles.
• Proven leadership of cross‑functional digital initiatives.

Required skills

• Lean, DMAIC, Six Sigma methodology.
• PowerBI, Azure Databricks, SQL Server, UEMS, SharePoint.
• SCADA, MES, IoT, video‑analytics platforms.
• Python, R (AI exposure desirable).
• SAP S/4 HANA and MS Office suite.

What we offer

• LKR 390,000 basic salary per month.
• LKR 75,000 monthly vehicle‑lease allowance.
• Performance‑based variable pay up to LKR 1,000,000 per annum.
• Fuel entitlement.
