Group Head of Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI

About the role

We are looking for an enterprise‑level visionary leader to head Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI for a leading Sri Lankan conglomerate. Reporting to the Group CIO, the role will define and drive the data, analytics and AI strategy across all business verticals and subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi‑year Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI strategy and roadmap aligned with finance‑validated business outcomes.
• Establish and chair the Enterprise Data & AI Governance Council, implementing master data governance for Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance and Equipment domains.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture to design target‑state data architectures, metadata management and data lineage across SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors, CRM, data lakes and hyperscaler platforms (SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, BTP).
• Lead the enterprise BI programme, delivering trusted management information dashboards for the Board and executive leadership.
• Own the AI use‑case portfolio, build a Responsible‑AI framework (ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF) and oversee model lifecycle, production monitoring and drift detection.
• Collaborate with Legal, Risk, CISO and Data Protection Officers to enforce data classification, access control and PDPA compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or Business; Master’s or MBA strongly preferred.
• 12‑15 years of progressive experience in data, analytics or digital transformation, including at least 5 years in a senior enterprise‑wide leadership role.
• Proven track record in large ERP environments with hands‑on strategic exposure to SAP S/4HANA.
• Extensive experience leading data governance, master data management and data quality programmes in multi‑entity organisations.
• Strong executive presence with experience presenting to Boards and influencing C‑suite stakeholders.
