Group Chief Supply Chain Officer (Healthcare)

About the role

We are looking for a strategic Group Chief Supply Chain Officer to lead the end‑to‑end supply chain function for a leading healthcare organization in Colombo. Reporting at CXO level, you will shape and execute the supply chain strategy that supports the delivery of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and other critical health products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage procurement, sourcing, demand and supply planning, inventory, warehousing, logistics and distribution.
• Develop and implement a Group Supply Chain Strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
• Negotiate with local and international suppliers, manufacturers and healthcare principals.
• Oversee demand forecasting, replenishment and inventory optimisation to minimise stock‑outs, expiry and excess working capital.
• Drive cost reduction, process improvement and productivity enhancements across the supply chain.
• Establish and monitor KPIs covering cost, availability, inventory, supplier performance and service levels.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply disruption, import, logistics and compliance.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing supply chain and procurement team.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Pharmacy, Clinical, IT and HR stakeholders.
• Champion supply chain transformation through technology, ERP systems, analytics and automation.

Required profile

• Approximately 10 years of progressive supply chain experience, with recent senior‑level roles such as GM, Head or Director.
• Strong background in healthcare, hospital, pharmaceutical, medical devices or related distribution sectors.
• Proven ability to lead large, complex supply chain organisations and drive strategic initiatives.
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and risk‑mitigation skills.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems and data analytics for supply chain optimisation.
