General Counsel – Sri Lanka & Maldives

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, commercially‑minded General Counsel to lead the in‑house legal function for our operations in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. The role reports to senior country leadership and provides strategic legal, regulatory and risk‑management advice across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal review, drafting and negotiation of commercial and client agreements.
• Advise on RFPs, bids, contractual risks, liability and risk mitigation.
• Provide guidance on regulatory, professional practice, NOCLAR, AML/CFT and sanctions matters.
• Advise on data protection, privacy, DPAs and cross‑border data transfers.
• Support third‑party, procurement, governance and corporate legal matters.
• Advise on new business initiatives, technologies and global programs.
• Collaborate with country leadership, risk management, service lines and global legal teams.
• Manage relationships with external counsel, clients, regulators and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong experience in commercial contracting and legal risk management.
• Excellent knowledge of corporate, regulatory and data‑protection matters.
• Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders in complex or international environments.
• Pragmatic, solutions‑oriented approach with high integrity and discretion.
