About the role

The front of house role at Cafe Brit is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Colombo. It involves greeting guests, managing seating, taking orders, and ensuring that customers have a positive experience from arrival to departure. Team members collaborate with kitchen staff, handle payments, and uphold the café’s clean and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting guests and managing seating arrangements.
• Taking orders, serving food and beverages, and processing payments.
• Handling customer inquiries and resolving concerns.
• Coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the dining area and adhering to health‑and‑safety standards.
• Supporting basic opening and closing duties.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and ability to resolve guest inquiries.
• Confidence in presenting menu items and specials.
• Basic cash‑handling experience and flexibility to work varied shifts.
• Prior hospitality or retail experience is beneficial.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional local languages is a plus.
