Foreign Desk Relationship Manager (Chinese Corporate Relations)

About the role

A leading Sri Lankan bank is seeking a dynamic Foreign Desk Relationship Manager to develop and strengthen relationships with Chinese and other international companies operating in Sri Lanka. The role is pivotal for expanding the bank’s corporate and commercial banking portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage and strengthen relationships with Chinese and other international companies operating in Sri Lanka, including corporates, SMEs and multinationals.
• Identify and acquire new business opportunities through direct engagement, referrals, industry networks and business associations.
• Promote the bank’s corporate, commercial, trade finance, treasury, cash management and retail banking solutions to international corporate clients and their employees.
• Act as the primary relationship manager for foreign corporate customers, ensuring high service standards and long‑term engagement.
• Build strategic partnerships with international business associations, chambers of commerce and industry bodies to raise the bank’s visibility.
• Collaborate with internal product and service teams to deliver tailored financial solutions and represent the bank at networking events and industry forums.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in banking, corporate banking, relationship management or business development.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Chinese or other foreign languages is a strong advantage.
• Established professional networks with international companies, multinational corporations or trade organisations operating in Sri Lanka.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills with a proven ability to generate new business and meet targets.
