Finance Manager (Negombo)

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Finance Manager to lead the finance and accounting function of Aqua Dynamics in Negombo. The role will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with local and international standards, and providing strategic insights to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with SLFRS/IFRS and applicable accounting standards.
• Provide management with accurate financial performance reports and insights to support strategic decision‑making.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, finance operations, and ERP/accounting system controls to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Ensure timely compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements, including corporate tax, VAT and withholding tax.
• Coordinate external audits and maintain effective relationships with auditors, tax consultants, banks and regulators.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and accounting standards and assess their impact on the business.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team while ensuring smooth departmental operations.
• Deputize for the CFO as required, representing Finance in senior leadership discussions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field.
• Fully qualified member of a recognized professional accounting body (CA, ACCA, CIMA or CMA).
• Preferred: MBA or postgraduate qualification in finance or business management.
• Minimum 6–8 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Proven track record preparing financial statements under SLFRS/IFRS and managing statutory audits.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP accounting systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of Power BI or similar business‑intelligence/reporting tools.
• Strong knowledge of SLFRS/IFRS reporting standards.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, VAT and withholding tax processes.
