Finance Executive - Accounts Payable

About the role

The Finance Executive – Accounts Payable will manage the end‑to‑end processing of supplier invoices and payments for travel‑related services. You will ensure accuracy, compliance with company policies and statutory regulations, and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices for air tickets, hotel bookings, tour packages and other travel services, verifying approvals and policy compliance.
• Prepare and schedule local and overseas vendor payments in line with contractual terms and cash‑flow requirements.
• Reconcile supplier accounts, resolve discrepancies promptly and monitor accounts‑payable ageing.
• Liaise with reservations, ticketing and operations teams to address invoice or payment queries.
• Support month‑end closing activities, including accruals and payables reporting.
• Maintain accurate payable records in the accounting system, handling foreign‑currency transactions.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, WHT and other tax regulations applicable to travel transactions.
• Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Part qualification in CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA, AAT or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 3‑4 years of general accounting experience, with at least 2 years in accounts payable, preferably in the travel, airline or hospitality industry.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software such as SAP or Oracle.
