Field IT Hardware Technician

About the role

The Field IT Hardware Technician provides on‑site technical support for laptops, tablets and related IT equipment across Abans' extensive distribution network in Sri Lanka. You will diagnose, repair and maintain hardware to ensure customers experience minimal downtime and high satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to client locations on a motorbike to perform hardware diagnostics and repairs.
• Repair and service laptops, tablets and other IT devices on‑site.
• Identify and resolve basic networking issues related to the equipment.
• Document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs.
• Provide clear communication and customer service during each service call.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification in IT or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar field service or hardware support role.
• Basic understanding of IT hardware, software and networking concepts.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Own a motorbike; fuel expenses for work‑related travel will be reimbursed.
