Executive – Supply Chain & Commercials

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Executive to lead end‑to‑end supply chain and commercial activities for our client in Kelanimulla. The role involves managing import/export shipments, coordinating with regulatory bodies, and ensuring seamless communication with overseas customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of import and export shipments from initiation to delivery.
• Coordinate with BOI, Customs, and other government agencies to secure permits and approvals.
• Provide regular shipment updates to overseas customers in their required formats.
• Negotiate rates, routes, and arrangements with freight forwarders nominated by the company or customers.
• Ensure shipment handover readiness by aligning suppliers and documentation.
• Continuously improve commercial operations and streamline processes.
• Prepare and share production‑related reports with key stakeholders on time.
• Liaise with production plants and third‑party partners to achieve Desired In Full On Time (DIFOT) deliveries.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial logistics or related fields.
• Formal qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Shipping.
• Proven ability to work with diverse teams and overseas customers.
• Familiarity with freight forwarding, Incoterms negotiation, and shipment planning.
• Experience in manufacturing and import/export logistics is advantageous.
• Knowledge of bonded warehouses and third‑party logistics companies is a plus.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and solution‑driven mindset.
• Excellent professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Fluent in English and Sinhala.
• Effective negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet month‑end deadlines.
