Executive – Group Key Account Management

About the role

To manage and coordinate the Group Corporate Clients & Agents and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship whilst focusing on company goals. The position is based at the Colombo headquarters and reports to the Senior Manager – Group Key Account Management.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze past market pricing data, decide on competitive pricing for corporate clients and act as the single point of contact for corporate pricing.
• Coordinate with offices on new tenders/bids of key partners, discuss with superiors and submit bid information within assigned timelines.
• Manage and sustain key corporate accounts, enhancing prospective business opportunities.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with senior leadership to implement strategic initiatives that improve service excellence for partners and key customers.
• Monitor rates across all locations, negotiate the best pricing for key partners and assigned accounts, and respond to daily RFQs from corporate clients.
• Track shipments of all key accounts, coordinate with origin stations, and escalate critical deviations to senior management.
• Ensure DGL stations achieve KPI targets for corporate clients, identify root causes of service failures and implement corrective processes.
• Gather market intelligence and keep corporate clients informed to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar customer‑service operations role within the freight forwarding industry.
• Thorough knowledge of air and ocean freight operations.
• Proficiency in dealing with corporate clients and strong negotiation and pricing skills.
• Excellent English communication skills with an analytical mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an MBA is an added advantage.
