Engineering Intern - Hardware Acceleration

About the role

LSEG is offering a 6‑month Engineering Internship focused on hardware acceleration. You will work within LSEG Markets Engineering, gaining hands‑on experience with GPU, FPGA and other high‑performance computing technologies that power financial systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prototype GPU, FPGA and other hardware‑accelerated solutions.
• Support the design and implementation of heterogeneous computing platforms under guidance from senior engineers.
• Learn how hardware and software components integrate to deliver robust, mission‑critical systems.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team on real‑world project tasks.
• Explore the balance between performance, cost, maintainability and reliability in complex system design.

Required profile

• Penultimate or final‑year STEM student graduating between summer 2027 and summer 2028.
• Right to work in Sri Lanka for the full internship duration.
• Strong analytical mindset, curiosity for data and ability to draw conclusions.
• Resilience and flexibility in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• GPU programming or development.
• FPGA design or development.
• Understanding of hardware‑accelerated computing.
• Familiarity with heterogeneous computing platforms.
• Interest in backend software development.
