Engineering Intern – Cyber Security

About the role

This 6‑month Engineering Internship gives you a realistic glimpse of a career in cyber security within LSEG Markets Engineering. You will work onsite at the Colombo‑Malabe hub, supporting real security projects and learning from experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with security testing and assessments across applications and systems under expert guidance.
• Identify, document and help communicate security findings to relevant teams.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand how security is integrated into design, development and operations.
• Gain hands‑on experience with security tools, emerging threats and industry‑standard methodologies.
• Contribute to team projects and day‑to‑day activities while exploring other LSEG departments.

Required profile

• Penultimate‑ or final‑year STEM student graduating between summer 2027 and summer 2028.
• Strong curiosity for data, analytical thinking and problem‑solving.
• Resilience, focus and flexibility in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Interest in backend software development and cyber security concepts.
• Legal right to work in Sri Lanka for the full internship period.
